Our Team

James Gray has been the principal at Walker Elementary since 2019. He has worked in education as a teacher, technology coordinator and an assistant principal. James lives in Chicago with his wife who is a teacher and four children who attend the Chicago Public Schools.

Amy Wharton has been the assistant principal at Walker since 2020. This is her 16th year in District 65 and 30th in education. Ms. Wharton has worked in education as a teacher, librarian and department chair. When Amy is not at Walker, she enjoys spending time with her husband (high school counselor), 17 year old son and two rescue pups - Pepper and Grenadine.
